Help with Stopping Smoking

How to be FREE of the habit of smoking or CUT BACK on the number of cigarettes you smoke in 7 EASY steps:

Have you decided to give up smoking for the sake of yourself, family, friends or work? Do you want to feel happier, healthier and wealthier? Have you tried giving up before and not managed or only managed for a few months? Are you scared that you will not succeed this time…or fail again in giving up the dreaded weed? Would you prefer to give up without the aid of drugs but are scared of the craving?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions then carry on reading because here are some simple steps to follow to help you become a non-smoker.

1. Decide that from now on you will only smoke outside.

2. Drink about 2 litres of bottled or filtered water a day.

3. Take a good multi vitamin tablet every day.

4. Keep your cigarettes and lighter or matches in different rooms.

5. For 2 days smoke as many cigarettes as you like BUT hold the cigarette between the thumb and first (index) finger of your right hand.

6. Every 2 days following change the holding position that you would normally hold your cigarette. As an example if you are right handed and generally hold your cigarette between the first and middle finger this is the position that you will skip. If you are left handed skip the position that you would generally use.

7. If you feel an urge or craving to smoke be aware of what you are doing and change it. Try some of these methods or make up your own.

  • You might be sitting down for a cup of tea or coffee – drink water instead.
  • You might be about to use the phone – stand up for the call and keep it brief.
  • You are missing holding a cigarette in your hand – go and cook something.
  • You have finished your meal - clean your teeth.

If you have followed all the suggestions in this simple 7 STEP plan you will have naturally cut back on the amount of cigarettes that you used to smoke.

You may even be a non-smoker NOW if you got fed up following the suggestions that you no longer feel the urge to smoke and so you have stopped smoking altogether.

Well done on whatever you achieve.

On the other hand, please excuse the pun, some of you may still have a problem in becoming a non-smoker and there may be some fears attached to becoming a successful non-smoker like:-

  • Fear of gaining weight.
  • Fear of losing a friend.
  • Fear of losing the reward.
  • Fear of losing a simple method to relax
  • Fear of not being able to stop the addiction etc.

If you have fears like any of the above and they are just a sample then you could try a number of differing therapies like Neuro-linguistic Programming, Thought Field Therapy or Hypnosis etc. I use a combination of TFT, NLP and Hypnosis as everyone is different and what might suit one person may not suite another.

You are welcome to call me for a FREE consultation to discuss any problems that you might be experiencing.
